About Mitchell Flower Farm
Our Story
Here at Mitchell Flower Farm, near Sevenoaks, we are passionate about growing local flowers naturally. We cultivate our blooms without chemicals and use peat-free compost to enrich the sandy loam of our land which has been in our family for four generations.
Everyone loves fresh flowers in their home, but there is something especially fun and beautiful about assembling your own selection of local blooms right here in the field. Feel free to wander the rows at leisure, snips and bucket in hand, and let your imagination go wild.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Book for a bucket of beautiful, local flowers
Book to come and pick your own flowers at the field at a time that suits you. On arrival we will give you snips and a bucket that fits around 30 flower stems. After picking, we will wrap the flowers for you to take home (using compostable water-retaining wrap to keep them fresh in the car). Alternatively pay an extra £5 at the Shed to take the bucket home. Slots are limited to ensure the best quantity and quality of flowers throughout the season so you can be sure you will have a great selection of beautiful, local flowers and a peaceful field! If you decide after picking that you would like to keep going and add another Regular bucket or a Small bucket just pay for these in the Shed afterwards.

Regular Flower Bucket
£25
Additional Regular Bucket when one isn't enough. Just ask for another on arrival at your booking and pay for it in the Shed afterwards.
Small Flower Bucket
£15
Perfect for the beginning of the season when stems are shorter, these 13cm diameter, 12cm deep galvanised buckets still pack in a lot of local flowers. They are great for sweetpeas, calendula, borage, cerinthe, strawflowers, and short stemmed cosmos and dahlias. Take the bucket home with you for another £3. To add a Small Bucket when you come for your booked slot, pay for it in the Shed after picking.
Flowers for Events
We love to help you with your wedding and party flowers. Please get in touch with us to discuss and we can book you in to pick larger quantities in the buckets below. These appointments generally take place on Thursdays so you can condition the flowers in time for a weekend event
Large Bucket
£60
This large flower bucket will fit at least 60 long flower stems, giving you the option for a massive bouquet or several smaller ones. It's perfect for events. For an extra £4, take the bucket home. Please get in touch if you would like to pick a Large Bucket and we will arrange a time that suits you.
Bud Vase Bucket
£40
This is the same diameter as the Large Bucket but around half the height, ideal if you are picking shorter, more delicate stems for bud vase arrangements.

Pick your Own Flowers vouchers
The perfect gift for the flower lover in your life. A pick your own flower voucher can be redeemed any time during the 2026 season and allows the recipient to fill a bucket with the flowers of their choice. All they have to do is book a picking slot and enter their unique voucher code at checkout to redeem it.
FAQs
Do I have to book?
From July 2026 we are introducing a booking system. Please click to book and pay £25 for an online appointment in advance. This guarantees you a great selection of flowers and a peaceful field. When you arrive we will give you snips and a Regular bucket that can fit around 30 stems. Afterwards we can wrap them for you (with compostable water-retaining wraps to keep them fresh in the car). Alternatively pay £5 in the Shed after picking to take the bucket home with you. If you decide you would like to add a Small bucket or additional Regular bucket when you arrive, these can also be paid for in the Shed after picking. For Large buckets ideal for events please get in touch with me at alex@mitchellflowerfarm.co.uk to arrange a time. For the month of June 2026 please feel free to book an online appointment but we are still operating a drop in service too to allow people to adjust to the new system.
Is my booking slot only for 30 minutes?
No, you are free to spend a leisurely hour if you like!
How can I find you?
Mitchell Flower Farm is in Bitchet Green, near Sevenoaks, Kent. You can find us just down from the cricket ground at Bitchet Green along Rooks Hill Road. Keep an eye out for a farm gate on your left. The nearest postcode is TN15 0NG, and you can also locate us using What3Words: flap.rail.clay. Don’t forget to look for the orange banner by the metal farm gate to find our local flowers!
When are you open?
Our Kent flower farm is open every Friday and Saturday from 10am-3pm, welcoming visitors from June to early-October.
Are there any access issues?
Cars can park in the field on the grass, weather conditions permitting. If it rains, the tracks can get muddy, and I may have to close, so please check the website beforehand if it is wet. The paths between the flowerbeds are fairly level, but sensible footwear is advised!
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs on short leads are welcome.
Are there are any facilities on site?
Since the flowers are in a farm field, there are no loos. I'd love to get a coffee cart here one day, but sadly, this is one for the future.
What if your opening days don't work for me?
Our Kent flower farm is open for picking your own flowers on Fridays and Saturdays. However, if you are planning a big event, such as a wedding or party, and need one or more Large buckets do get in touch and we can arrange a suitable time.
Can I bring my own container to pick into?
To simplify pricing, we provide the buckets for you to fill. For a small additional fee, you can take these buckets home with you. Alternatively you can transfer the flowers into your own container or we can wrap them in compostable water-absorbent fabric to keep them perky on the journey home.
What if I don't have time to pick but just want some flowers?
No problem. We can pick for you to order, just tell us what you are looking for and we can help, flower availability permitting. Flowers can be collected from the field within normal opening hours. A Large bucket picked to order is £80, Bud Vase Bucket £60, Regular bucket £40 and Small Bucket £25. Get in touch and we can sort something out.
What if I need to reschedule my booking?
If you have booked a picking slot but have to reschedule because of rain or any other reason you can do this online. Click on the confirmation link we have emailed you withe booking and Create an Account. You can then manage your bookings. Alternatively just get in touch and we will sort it for you.

New for the 2026 season, we are excited to offer evening hosting for private pick your own events at our Kent flower farm. Whether it's for a hen party or just a get-together with friends, get in touch and we can arrange a beautiful sundowner session in the field, complete with a complimentary glass of fizz, nibbles, and a regular bucket of local flowers for each member of the party. £40 per person, maximum group of 10 people.
