About Mitchell Flower Farm
Our Story
Here at Mitchell Flower Farm near Sevenoaks in Kent we are passionate about growing flowers naturally. We grow without chemicals and use peat-free compost from our own land to enrich the sandy loam of the farm our family has owned for four generations.
Everyone loves fresh flowers in their home, but there is something especially fun and beautiful about putting together your own selection. Feel free to wander the rows at lesiure, snips and bucket in hand, and let your imagination go wild.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Choose your bucket
There are 3 bucket sizes available. When you arrive, choose one and we will give you some snips so you can fill it with the flowers that catch your eye. Then either transfer the flowers to your own container or, for a few extra quid, take the bucket home with you
Large Flower Bucket
£50
This large flower bucket will fit at least 60 long flower stems to give you a massive bouquet or several smaller ones. Perfect for eventsBest when summer is in full swing and the flowers have had a chance to really get going. The number of stems that will fit depends on what you pick - dahlias, sunflowers and snapdragons will take up more room than cosmos, verbena or ammi, Bucket measures 28cm diameter, 32cm deep. For an extra £4 take the bucket home with you and you can bring it back next time!
Regular Flower Bucket
£20
Ideal for medium length stems, these metal buckets will fit around 20-30 blooms for a lovely bunch or several smaller tabletop displays. Approx 14cm diameter, 20cm deep. Add £5 to take the bucket home with you.
Small Flower Bucket
£15
Perfect for the beginning of the season when stems are shorter, these 13cm diameter, 12cm deep galvanised buckets still pack in a lot of flowers. Great for sweetpeas, calendula, borage, cerinthe, strawflowers and short stemmed cosmos and dahlias. Take the bucket home with you for another £3.
Jam Jars

Great for kids or for when you want a small tabletop display. These are ideal for shorter stems that would get lost in a taller bucket - things like calendula, sweetness, cerinthe, strawflowers and Iceland poppies. Jam jar with lid included so you can use it again.

Do I have to book?
No need to book, but do check the website before heading off in case we have had to close due to bad weather
How can I find you?
Mitchell Flower Farm is in Bitchet Green, near Sevenoaks, Kent. We are located just down from the cricket ground at Bitchet Green down Rooks Hill Road. Look for a farm gate on your left. The nearest postcode is TN15 0NG. What3Words flap.rail.clay. Look for the orange banner by the metal farm gate!
When are you open?
We are open every Friday and Saturday from 10am-3pm from June to mid October.
Are there any access issues?
Cars can park in the field on the grass, weather conditions permitting, If it rains, the tracks can get muddy and I may have to close so please check the website beforehand if it is wet. The paths between the flowerbeds are fairly level, but sensible footwear is advised!
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs on short leads are welcome
Are there are any facilities on site?
Since the flowers are in a farm field there are no loos. I'd love to get a coffee cart here one day but, sadly, this is one for the future
What if your opening days don't work for me?
Pick your own is open on Fridays and Saturdays, but if you are planning a big event such as a wedding or party I may be able to open on another day for you. Please note there is a minimum £50 spend in these circumstances. Please get in touch
Can I bring my own container to pick into?
We have 4 container sizes - the Large Bucket, Regular Bucket, Small Bucket and Jam Jar. To make the pricing simple we will give you one of these buckets to pick into. For an additional few quid you can take these buckets home with you, or alternatively, transfer them into your own container.
Do I have to bring secateurs or snips?
Feel free to bring your own but we have a selection you can borrow

The perfect gift for the flower lover in your life. A pick your own flower voucher can be redeemed at any time during the 2026 season and allows the recipient to pick a shiny metal flower bucket full of the flowers of their choice. Bucket is included.

New for the 2026 season, we are excited to offer evening hosting for private pick your own events. Whether it's for a hen party or just a get together for friends, get in touch and we can arrange a beautiful sundowner session at the field complete with a complimentary glass of fizz and nibbles and a regular bucket of flowers for each member of the party. £35 per person, maximum group of 10 people.
